tay for 4 nights in The Puri Raja and it was great. The staff were very polite and helpful and the grounds were well kept tidy with beautiful gardens. The rooms are simply furnished, but very comfortable and kept spotlessly clean. They have tea/coffee facilities and a good range of TV channels. The bathroom had brand new toilets and taps and great hot showers with lots of water pressure, plenty of space for things on the vanity. Balconies and terraces look out on to the lovely gardens, and there are 2 pools which for kids, the kiddy pool is a little deep. Breakfast was served at the beachside restaurant and offered the traditional Balinese as well as western food.
There are some great restaurants along the beach and you can also eat in the beachfront restaurant at the Niksoma. Out the back in Rum Jungle Rd, the Flying Piano serves good food, accompanied by 3 musicians who move around the tables playing requests, and we are always given free welcome drinks and goodbye drinks - they are Arak Attacks (Balinese traditional alcohol drinks), but very nice ones.
