Comment by: Pinkan2008 on Sat, 28 Jun 2008 02:45:57 from AU Average : 4/5 | Overall our stay was enjoyable and the hotel facilities were good, the only negative with the room was that the fixed hairdryer in the bathroom was not very good. The hotel was situated within easy walking distance to the main Kuta areas and the Discovery Centro Shopping next to the hotel was good for shopping and had great cafes. For anyone thinking of staying at Kartika I would recommend this hotel.
Excellent position can walk to most of the surrounding facilities. Excellent and quick services by the staffs. Ice delivered to room straight away, great variety for breakfast, bar service and pool side very good. Reception, can't fault, overall room was terrific, had garden terrace ground floor suited us. Next door is huge shopping mall, great. Along the road conveniences shop for small items. Plenty of eating places around to suit all tastes. Had the use of GYM for showers with clean towels, as we had to book out of room by 2pm, and flight was not until 10.30pm so it was nice to have this facility available. Beach area has been cleaned up, finished the stone wall in front of Kartika Plaza, and looks good now. Staff all very friendly and helpful.
Absolutely, we back stay here again.

The bedroom was quite spacious and was adorned with interesting pictures of topless ladies - all in an artistic fashion - perhaps a local delicacy! The room had a balcony with a slight sea view. The shower was large, bathroom clean (on par with Mandarin Oriental bathrooms), and marbled. Wonderful staff, they are friendly and helpful. The grounds are immaculate and the room- ground floor private garden pool view room- was fantastic. Pool food was good and you can choose between Japanese or the pool menu or the Italian restaurant menu.
The guide took me to Kuta and Tanah Lot. They have beautiful beach there. They also have a super mall, Discovery Shopping Mall next to the hotel. The biggest Mall in Bali, they said. I will recommended this hotel to every body.

There is a Water Park across the road also heaps of shops along the road as well as a shopping centre. Staff were friendly and helpful, check in process was painless. Highly recommend this hotel if you can get a reservation. Read more | | | Comment by: Rangi on Sun, 20 Apr 2008 03:25:11 from NZ Average : 4/5 | Great family hotel. Stayed at Discovery Kartika Plaza with our 3 children for 7 days. Got a special deal for a longer stay and enjoyed it immensely. Wonderful laid back staff, suited our Kiwi style. Convenience stores adjacent the hotel, and Discovery Plaza Shopping Mall next door. Lots of good family restaurants along Jalan Kartika. Enjoyed a day at the Waterbom Park. Lots to do for the family in Kuta Read more | | | Comment by: Aussie Peter on Wed, 19 Mar 2008 00:05:11 from Sydney, Australia Average : 4/5 | I stayed at Discovery Kartika Plaza hotel about 12 years ago, and I am amazed at how the area has changed. There is even a starbucks just up the road now!!!
I have always enjoyed this hotel, friendly staff, large open areas, and heaps of services, shops and restaurants along Jalan Kartika. Definitely I recommend this hotel to families, safe and private with lots of kids things to do in and around the hotel.
